Total IgE

The total IgE level in the serum can be significantly increased in patients with allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, extrinsic asthma and atopic dermatitis. In this case, further tests should be performed to determine the specific IgE sensitisation. Other diseases associated with increased total IgE levels are parasitic infections, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), IgE myeloma and hyper-IgE 1 syndrome.
